Ad-Aware is both anti-spyware and anti-virus. You can turn anti-virus off if you want. Anti-spyware and anti-malware are both the same thing Malware is just a more all-purpose way of calling the same type of rogrpams (malware which also includes spyware).Ad-Aware does the same thing as MalwareBytes plus anti-virus. It is generally rated much higher though.
